Instruments For Percy Grainger's Orchestra
The percussion group of instruments
to be used by Mr Percy Grainger's
new orchestra at the Town Hall to-
morrow night were played at the
Melba Hall, university Conservatorium,
today.
The staff bells were patterned by
Mr Grainger.
In front are the steel and wooden
marimbas.
These instruments have not been used together before
"I wrote music, for some of the
instruments before they had been in-
vented," Mr, Grainger: said today" but
I know their theoretical posabilities.
Tomorrow night my ambition, to use
them with an orchestra will "be realised."
